A Florida woman has gone viral after posting a video of a HelloFresh order that had visible mold on it. She told her audience that nothing could have prepared her for the condition that the assorted mini quiches came in, which she claimed was “a health violation.”

TikTok creator @musicalprism01 posted two videos that have received more than 376,800 views. In both videos, the creator featured food delivered by meal kit delivery service HelloFresh. But the food was visibly not-so-fresh.

“We just received our HelloFresh package in the mail today,” Musicalprism01 said. “We ordered these assorted mini quiche. My mother just opened it, and this is what they sent us… This is unsanitary. This is illegal.”

Pointing her camera at the mini quiches in question, Musicalprism01 showed that the majority of the product had visible green mold growing on it. The content creator's mother, off-camera, expressed fear of eating “the rest of the food” they'd received.

“This is absolutely a disgrace,” the creator continued. “Something needs to be done about this.  There have been several instances where we've received food, chicken, raw fish, raw things. The bags have been broken open in salmonella. They're dirty. This is disgusting. This is really, really [expletive] up.”

‘This is unsanitary. This is illegal'

In her comment section, the creator explained that she had previously ordered from the company in the past, but that “none of the past instances came remotely close to this disgrace.”

The creator said she planned to continue “posting this everywhere until something right is done by it.” In response to a commenter, she also said she'd “reached out several times to add HelloFresh.”

“Not only did we not get a response but we were not refunded our money which is absolutely disgusting,” the creator wrote. “So I'm gonna continue and leave these posts up because we deserve compensation that is correct and acknowledgment. This is wrong.”

Additional information about the HelloFresh order

In a follow-up video, the creator showed her viewers two more packs of HelloFresh quiches she'd received. The packages also had visible green mold on them. She also liked comments from viewers who'd had similar experiences.

“Last time i got a hello fresh order i got food poisoning,” one such comment read. “I cancelled.”

“I worked for the Aussie hello fresh n yeah it's not the best,” read another. A third read, “Learned with 1 hello fresh order, that NOTHING is actually fresh.”

Multiple commenters expressed disbelief at her experience, saying they'd only gotten fresh food from HelloFresh. Some even accused the creator of faking the video for views or compensation. The creator denied those allegations.

Is HelloFresh actually healthy?

Per CNET, more and more Americans are relying on meal kit services, which deliver “boxes of preportioned ingredients plus recipes directly to customers' doors” and are often marketed as healthy alternatives to dining out. One 2025 market study reported that “60% of consumers use meal kits primarily for convenience,” but do these delivery services always deliver good products?

Registered nutritionist Reyna Franco reviewed HelloFresh for Everyday Health in 2020 and then again in 2025, assessing it thoroughly for price, healthiness and variety. Franco deemed HelloFresh “worth it,” but noted that “prepared meals and sauces may contain high levels of sodium.”

On the other hand, dietician blog The Nourished Path gave HelloFresh a lower grade (specifically, a C- for “nutritional value”) after trying out multiple meal kits. The final verdict? “It was ok.”

“The nutritional value was not very high,” the Nourished Path wrote. “Lots of carbs in the meals, and not as many vegetables as I would prefer. Flavoring leaned heavily on oil and sugar which is not ideal from a nutrition perspective.”

More reviews revealed that many HelloFresh users have mixed experiences with the company. However, Musicalprism01 is certainly not alone in her experience with moldy HelloFresh food.

Multiple Reddit and Facebook users report receiving moldy ingredients, although there aren't an eye-watering amount of these posts online. A 2024 TikTok also gone viral and received news coverage after one woman shared footage of mold-covered HelloFresh order.

Buzz News has reached out to HelloFresh via email and the creator via TikTok comment.

@musicalprism01 @HelloFresh US @HelloFresh This is absolutely unacceptable. The items we received in our HelloFresh delivery were completely covered in mold, visibly spoiled, and clearly unsafe to eat. This isn't just a minor quality issue—this is a serious food safety concern that should never happen with perishable products. No customer should ever open a delivery to find food in this condition. We have clear photos and videos documenting everything, and this level of negligence needs to be addressed immediately. We expect a full refund and appropriate compensation for receiving food that is not only unusable, but potentially hazardous. 🤮 🤢 This needs urgent attention. #FoodSafety #HelloFresh #CustomerService ♬ original sound – musicalprism01
