Chipotle customer asks for guac. Then they find something in their bowl that absolutely shouldn’t be there
Slop bowls are the current craze, with thousands of people purchasing them for lunch or dinner every day. But one TikTok content creator found something inside of her Chipotle order that made her pause and take out her phone.
Madi (@maddog.rooney2) posted a video that received more than 862,000 views. In it, she pointed out that the guacamole she ordered alongside her Chipotle bowl had something inside of it. Her discovery led some viewers to question the restaurant chain's quality control standards.
What was wrong with Madi's Chipotle bowl?
When Madi opened her Chipotle bowl, she noticed something was off. The content creator didn't start eating her meal. Instead, she recorded what she found — a tag and a large amount of avocado skin.
Madi wrote, “Thank you chipotle for assuring me of which avocados you use in my meal,” referring to the tag. In her caption, she added, “Half the avacado skin and the tag too.”
In a later post, she revealed that there was more avocado skin in her bowl that she did not eat.
Some viewers, however, told the content creator that the tag wasn't a big deal.
“babes its just a sticker … ‘at what cost' like its just the worker who made the guac at 6 in the morning missed a tag,” one viewer said. Madi replied, “You clearly don't know the germs that the outside of avocados carry from transportation to the chipotle.”
Another viewer responded, “Girl lemme tell u if you're worried about germs then simply don't eat chipotle or any fast food chain. U don't know how nasty it gets.”
Is the bowl actually considered inedible?
The tag and avocado skin that Madi found in her bowl likely would not have made her sick if she consumed them. They're just somewhat unappetizing.
The content creator could make a claim to Chipotle regarding both to receive a refund or promotion, but in the past, at least one person has said they were declined a total refund on the basis of finding avocado skin in their food.
“On April 18 2026 I emailed Chipotle that I was complaining about my food and I found avocado skin in my guacamole,” they said in a ConsumerAffairs claim. “I asked for the same free steak burrito bowl but they denied my request.” They clarified that they were offered free chips instead.

What other things have customers found in their Chipotle bowls?
Madi isn't the only person to find something she wasn't supposed to in a Chipotle bowl. Other customers have posted stories regarding unsavory items, which they claim they found inside regular orders.
In one circumstance, a woman sued Chipotle after alleging that she found a rodent inside of a burrito bowl she ordered. Employees allegedly told the woman that she bit into a piece of chicken, but “the ears, nose and tail demonstrated otherwise,” according to the woman's attorney.
Chipotle strongly denied the allegation and stated it would “vigorously defend” itself against the complaint. The company maintains that the meat was a “chicken tendon/ligament,” according to People.
In another circumstance, a customer alleged that they found “metal shavings” inside a Chipotle burrito. “Ordered a burrito for my son and found metal shavings in it. He almost swallowed it,” said Bonnie, a customer from Marina, California, who reported the situation to ConsumerAffairs.
