MAGA Fest Featuring Kid Rock Canceled After Selling Six VIP Tickets

Kid Rock lost a scheduled MAGA festival appearance after its organizer sold just six of the $1,000 VIP passes he counted on to fund it.

Eric Deters canceled Patriots Day Freedom Fest, set for September 26 at his farm in Morning View, Kentucky, after the sales fell far short of his plan.

The six-ticket figure refers to VIP passes, not total attendance: general admission and parking were free.

Deters had expected about 100 wealthy contacts to buy the passes and cover the event's costs.

“Only six people had bought a VIP ticket,” he said in a video reported by Entertainment Weekly, which has since been deleted. Deters later rejected claims that MAGA supporters had abandoned the festival, saying he could not cover its costs himself this year.

Kid Rock's representative gave a different account of his scheduled role from reports describing him as a performer. His representative told Entertainment Weekly he was added five days before the cancellation and “was not performing, only booked to speak at the event.”

The planned guest list also included Rep. James Comer, Republican congressional candidate Ed Gallrein and Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman.

Deters said Kid Rock bore no responsibility for the cancellation and expressed appreciation that he had agreed to appear.

Deters faced another cancellation involving the same festival three years earlier, when he expected a much bigger political guest.

In 2023, Deters canceled Freedom Fest after Donald Trump's planned appearance fell through, according to Northern Kentucky outlet LINK nky.

Deters said Trump's schedule had changed after some supporters bought $5,000 VIP passes on the expectation he would attend.

Freedom Fest later returned in 2024, with Donald Trump Jr. headlining the gathering at Deters' Northern Kentucky farm.

Kid Rock also appeared on the bill for a separate festival stop that organizers canceled earlier this year. AllHipHop covered the loss of his Rock the Country stop in Anderson, South Carolina, after several artists left its lineup.

FOX Carolina reported that organizers cited “unforeseen circumstances” when they canceled the July dates; Kid Rock and Jason Aldean had been billed to headline.
