Moritz Seider is the clear favorite for the 2021-22 draft. A 1st round pick, 6th overall in 2019, the Detroit Red Wings defenseman has been sparkling this season.

Moritz Seider

Seider scored 50 points as he played in all 82 games for the Wings. And in those 82 games, he played an average of 23 minutes!

Seider scored 7 goals, a few of which were crucial in his team's wins. He is said to be the best young defenseman in the National Hockey League.

Lucas Raymond

The Detroit Red Wings' prolific duo is completed by winger Lucas Raymond. Selected 4th overall in 2020, he has scored 57 points in 82 games.

The 20-year-old Swede was also playing big minutes for the Wings, about 18 per game. A lot of responsibility for such a young man.

Negative: a -32 record. In perspective, however, you have to understand that 7 players on the team finished with a -22 record or worse.

Trevor Zegras

Trevor Zegras will also receive some first place votes for Rookie of the Year. His 61 points in 75 games make a good case.

Trevor Zegras

Drafted 9th overall in 2019, Zegras played 24 games with the Ducks last year. 1 less than the maximum to remain eligible!

The young man has been in the news a lot this season after scoring some colorful goals. He is simply electrifying!

Michael Bunting

Michael Bunting was drafted 117th overall in 2014 (4th round), by the Arizona Coyotes. He has since rolled his way through the American League.

In 2021-22, things broke loose for him with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The 26-year-old left winger had 63 points in 79 games.

Anton Lundell

Anton Lundell didn't have to wait that long. A 1st round pick, 12th overall by the Florida Panthers in 2020, he is a 20-year-old center.

Anton Lundell

In 65 games, Lundell has 44 points, including 18 goals. He's been able to develop into a comfortable chair as the Panthers are an NHL powerhouse.

Jeremy Swayman

Jeremy Swayman is 23 years old. Drafted 111th in 2017 (4th round), he has confirmed the adage that goalies often take a while to perform in the NHL.

Jeremy Swayman

In 41 games, Swayman has 23 wins. He also posted a .914 save percentage.

Tanner Jeannot

Tanner Jeannot of the Nashville Predators was never drafted. After a great run with Moose Jaw in Western junior field hockey, he took a walk.

Tanner Jeannot

AHL, ECHL, then finally the NHL. 15 games in 2020-21 then led him to a full 81-game, 41-point season in 2021-22.

Cole Caufield

Cole Caufield is the 15th overall pick in the 2019 auction. He filled the net in the 2021 playoffs with the Montreal Canadiens before a slow start last fall.
