Woman gets off the train on her way to work. A man hands her a note – there’s something suspicious about the paper: ‘I can’t decide if this is sweet or weird’
A woman received a love note. She can't decide whether it was kind or creepy.
In a viral TikTok video with 149,600 views, content creator $avannahhh (@savdur14) read the note aloud and invited all suitors to confess their love sooner rather than later.
“Story Time! Got a note handed to me today by rando man!” text overlaid on the clip read.
Who gave the woman a random love letter?
According to the TikToker, the note was written by a man who she regularly sees during her daily commute.
“Every single day, it's the same man,” she noted.
She explained that she was wary of the man. She even took note of his appearance just in case she ever had to report him to the police.
“He looks at me every single day as I walk by,” she said.
She mentioned that his behavior seemed “odd.”
What did the man write in the note?
After seeing him on multiple occasions, the man gave her a hand-written note.
The letter was written on what appeared to be the page of a planner.
In it, the man, named Alexis, called the TikTok user the “most beautiful woman” his eyes had ever seen. He also expressed concerns about how she would respond to the letter and admitted he did not speak English.
“Thank goodness love is universal,” his letter said.
Ultimately, the love letter posed simple questions about the woman's interests and asked her out on a date.
“I spent about an hour on the Spanish/English translator,” the note read.
By the letter's end, $avannahhh acknowledged that it was “super kind” of the man to write the letter.
However, she also expressed extreme hesitation with getting to know him any further.
“I'm never gunna speak to that man, let me just tell you,” she concluded.
She also pointed out that the note was written on pink paper, which she found odd.
“You telling me this man doesn't have a woman at home?” she asked. “A wife, a child, anything?”
The strange exchange made her wonder if she should change her routine in order to avoid him completely. Or simply walk right past him whenever she sees him again.

Do people even write love notes anymore?
The woman's shock at receiving a love letter is completely fair.
According to a CBS News article, very few people even receive love letters at all anymore.
The news site polled its readers and found that just under a third had written a letter in the past 12 months.
In the poll, 37% of the respondents said it had been more than five years since they had written or sent a personal letter. Meanwhile, another 15% have never even written a personal letter.
Many people, however, believe handwritten letters are more sentimental than other forms of communication.
Commenters chime in
In the video's comment section, TikTok users shared their mixed reactions to the letter.
Many argued it was only fair that she write a letter back.
“Yes, write a note in Spanish and respond with kindness because he treated you with kindness…” one TikTok user said.
“I would hand him a note that says thank you very much for your letter but I am not interested I have a boyfriend. I wish you all the best,” another viewer commented.
“At least send a note and tell him it was… sweet but your not interested. He was brave enough to approach you with this letter, least you can do is be kind enough to reply,” A third wrote.
However, others told the woman she should be wary of the man.
“Get off at a different train exit for now on. Longer walk might be worth it,” another TikToker added.
“Girl pls be careful,” a second commenter said.
