There’s been speculations of a woman in the role of 007 for a while now, but Ana de Armas does not see the logic behind it, in part because of the novel history of this cult series.
“It is not necessary to have a female Bond. It shouldn’t be necessary to steal someone else’s character to take over. This is a novel (…)”, said de Armas to The Sun.
“What I would like is for the female roles in the Bond films, even though Bond will continue to be a man, to come to life in a different way. That they are given a bigger role and more recognition. That’s what I find more interesting than turning things around,” she added.
