Nicholas Brendon (right), an American actor best known for his role as Xander Harris in the cult series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997–2003), has died.

A central and endearing character, Xander was the group’s loyal and often comical friend, which allowed Brendon to stand out with audiences and become an iconic figure of the series.

After Buffy, he continued his television career with roles in series such as Criminal Minds, where he played Kevin Lynch. He also participated in various independent projects, both in film and on television.

His personal life was marked by public struggles with addiction and legal troubles, which he addressed candidly over the years.

Many have paid tribute to him, including actress Sarah Michelle Gellar.
