2 Texas women order Chick-Fil-A at home. Then they test Uber Eats and DoorDash against each other

Texas-based creators Sydney and Hannah (@sydneyhannahgames) build their channel on competition — bets, dares, head-to-heads, all of it turning on who wins. This round, the contest was the delivery apps themselves. Same restaurant, Chick-fil-A; same order, an eight-count nugget meal; two platforms, one loser.

As of this writing, their post has more than 621,000 views. So, which platform was faster? And how fair was the race?

The story

The setup was clean. “We're gonna order the exact same thing from the same place and see which gets here faster,” Sydney says. The target: Chick-fil-A, 0.8 miles away. Both women ordered an eight-count nugget meal, Sydney adding a Diet Coke — a drink Hannah says she won't touch in the video.

Sydney took Uber Eats. Hannah took DoorDash. There is a timer overlay with details for the clip as they wait. The quotes came in nearly matched on price — $17.98 on Uber, $17.48 on DoorDash — but split on time. Uber promised nine to 28 minutes. DoorDash, 13 to 23.

The race

Their orders went live at 2:56 p.m. DoorDash was quicker at the start. Hannah's courier was waiting at the counter before Sydney's Uber Eats had assigned anyone. The screen read “preparing your order,” with her timer climbing.

“You don't even have a person,” Hannah needles. She didn't need one — her Dasher was already moving while Sydney's driver sat, per the video, “all the way across Austin.”

DoorDash arrived first. Hannah gloated over her bag. Sydney's Uber estimate had crept to 3:19. It would take five more minutes for food she'd ordered 25 minutes earlier.

The peanut gallery

Across the comment section, viewers generally agreed that DoorDash was at least somewhat faster than Uber Eats.

“DoorDash is always cheaper, and the drivers are better,” said one commenter. Another person said, “I only use DoorDash and never have an issue. My husband only uses Grubhub or Uber Eats and the order is ALWAYS wrong lol.”

But others took issue with using the apps to begin with.

“Idk but paying over 17$ for just some Chick-fil-A, I'd rather go get it especially when it's that close,” one commenter wrote. “To me, DoorDash and Uber Eats are just a waste of money and for lazy people who don't want to go get their own food, unless you have a reason to use DoorDash like no car, sick or whatever else.”

As one reply said: “They doing a test; relax.”

Dashers win the sprint

In one 600-order secret-shopper study, DoorDash logged the fastest average delivery time among the major apps, well ahead of Uber Eats. “Customers now have almost limitless options at their fingertips,” Intouch Insight CEO Cameron Watt said of the field.

Hannah's confidence squares, too. She said she orders DoorDash almost daily, and she has plenty of company. DoorDash has led U.S. meal delivery for years. Bloomberg Second Measure last pegged its share at 67% of sales in March 2024, which is a lead that keeps its couriers dense and its pickups fast. DoorDash itself reports that it holds 65% of the U.S. food delivery market in 2026.
