Woman tries to check into Arkansas Airbnb. Then she sees a man staring at her in a tuxedo at midnight: ‘The Google search made me sick’
While in remote Arkansas traveling to an Airbnb with a friend, a woman experienced a series of strange events that made her fear for her life. Luckily, she made it out intact but is still confused about exactly what happened and will perhaps never be the same.
In a video, Amanda Majors (@amandaamajors) explains that she and her friend Natalie booked an Airbnb for another friend's wedding. The Airbnb was difficult to find and had very specific instructions from the host.
What Happened With This Airbnb?
“So me and my friend Natalie were like driving into this Airbnb, and it's like in the middle of nowhere,” Majors says. “And so, like, already when we got the Airbnb instructions, it's already kind of sketchy. The [host] was like, ‘Please do not enter after dark. You have to go through two gates to get out, and the two gates to get there,'” Majors says.
The instructions also came with a few warnings.
“Please do not arrive after dark. Do not trespass. Do not wander off of our property; if you do, make sure you have a flashlight,” Majors shares. Given the heightened instructions and the fact that the Airbnb was not easily accessible on Google Maps, she and her friend were already on edge.
All of a sudden, they saw something on the road. According to Majors, they first saw two dogs. Shortly after, they noticed someone standing right next to their car.
“There's nothing. We are in the middle of nowhere … We look up… and there is a man standing on the side of the road in a full suit, like tuxedo, in the middle of nowhere. It is like midnight, and when I tell you my heart went in my butt,” Majors says. She says she and Natalie drove away immediately.
Unfortunately, Majors and Natalie missed the entrance to the house and had to pass the man a second time. Meanwhile, a subplot to this whole thing is that there was another vehicle that seemed to be following them and that randomly appeared behind them several times from different directions. This led them to believe they were being followed.
The video has 54,600 views and 1,800 comments.
The Ghost of Petit Jean Mountain
Major's friend, Natalie, decided to do some Googling and found something interesting. Apparently, there is a local legend about a 2008 disappearance of Little Rock businessman John Glasgow, whose cellphone was last connected to this area, and his vehicle was later found parked near the park.
According to a Google AI overview screenshot in the video, for years after his disappearance, news circulated of locals claiming to see a confused “man in a suit” wandering the roads of Petit Jean Mountain. In 2015, Glasgow's body was found in an area by the mountain.
“And so, was it a ghost? Did we see a ghost on the side of the road in Petit Jean Mountain? Was that what happened?” Majors says.
People Are Just As Terrified
Viewers were just as unsettled as Majors by the event.
“WHAT?! I wouldn't have slept at all. I would've just went and sleeped in my car lol,” one commenter wrote.
“This is HORRIFYING!!!! And you are brave for even continuing to the Airbnb lol I would have been headed back home 100%,” another person said.
“Oh my god. I remember the disappearance of John Glasgow like it was yesterday,” one viewer commented.
“I worked at the lodge when I was in college 07-09 and when you said a man in the business suit I knew who it was lol,” they wrote.
“That's Yell Co for ya- weird things happen over there….” another commenter said.
