  • Lionel Richie was reportedly hospitalized after a recent performance.
  • Medical tests are reportedly currently underway.
  • Witnesses report a concerning incident that occurred during his concert.
  • A previous health incident had already drawn attention recently.

According to a recent article published by TMZ, Lionel Richie was reportedly hospitalized in the intensive care unit in St. Louis after performing in the city over the weekend.

Sources with direct knowledge of the situation reportedly told the media outlet that the famous singer went to a local hospital on his own following his Saturday night performance at The Muny, located in Forest Park, to undergo a series of medical tests.

According to TMZ's report, Lionel Richie remains hospitalized as a precaution while doctors evaluate the possibility of mild dehydration, among other things. Sources reportedly told the outlet, however, that the singer hopes to be discharged from the hospital as early as Tuesday.

In addition, witnesses present at his Saturday night concert reportedly noticed that the artist seemed to be experiencing some difficulties toward the end of his performance. While performing his final song, “All Night Long,” Lionel Richie reportedly asked a member of his crew to bring him a chair so he could finish the show while seated.

It's worth noting that this isn't the first health-related incident Lionel Richie has experienced on stage in recent months. In June 2026, the singer had to cut short a concert in Saint Paul, Minnesota, after telling the audience he was feeling “dizzy” and “strange.”

Paramedics then met him backstage before transporting him to the hospital by ambulance. This latest hospitalization comes just a few months after that first incident, as the artist's health is once again drawing attention.
