Georgia woman orders Biscoff cake from Baskin-Robbins. Then she cuts it open: ‘This ain’t right’

Baskin-Robbins is still a hot spot for cool, sweet desserts. The signature 31 ice cream flavors and various treats appeal to everyone's sweet tooth. However, stumbling upon a different cake flavor inside this Biscoff ice cream cake turned this woman's excitement into anger.

What Went Wrong with This Baskin-Robbins Cake?

TikTok creator Kelli (@kellisweettreat) focuses on a Baskin-Robbins cake decorated with Biscoff cookies and icing. When she zooms in on the cake layer, she reveals a problem she spotted to over 20,000 viewers.

“OK, Baskin-Robbins, why does my Biscoff cake have Funfetti cake in it and not just plain white cake like the boxes?” she asks, referring to the sprinkled Funfetti cake below the ice cream layer. “Like, that's Funfetti birthday cake.”

As proof, the content creator unveils the top flap of the box she tore off, where the first line reads in red font, “Layers of White Cake.”

“So, did y'all run out of vanilla cake and decide to use the Funfetti? Kelli remarks. “This ain't right.”

Is It That Deep?

According to viewers, kind of. Many in the comments section battled it out about whether Kelli's complaint was valid. Some didn't think so.

“Girl I'd consider this a gift from god. Why are u complaining[?]” one viewer commented.

“Are we really complaining about sprinkles??????? Anything to get something free. This is embarrassing,” a second remarked.

“Who gaf. funfetti is better than white cake,” a third said.

However, those who agreed believed she had every right to feel frustrated.

“I would be p-ssed because I hate that nasty birthday cake/ fun fetti cake,” one commenter stated.

“Food is too expensive [not to get] what you paid for. They would have to remake this one,” a second noted.

“That cake [is $40]! It ain't right at all,” a third agreed.

How Could This Have Happened?

This begs the question: who could've been the culprit? It could be anyone or anything, really, because 100% of Baskin-Robbins locations are franchises.

In an r/BaskinRobbins subreddit, alleged workers shared that the cakes are made at their stores. For one, they said their store “[receives] shipment of the cake part where it's stored in the freezer and we create the ice cream layer in store,” and another echoed, “Cakes come in frozen. We cut and decorate [in] store. Some flavors are built in store but even then we use premade frozen cakes.”

Recently, Baskin-Robbins added limited-time Biscoff-flavored desserts to its fall menu. The ice cream cake in particular has become the star of the show, capturing audiences' taste buds and turning into a viral hit, according to Parade. Across the internet, we've watched (or experienced ourselves) how a product flies off the shelves after becoming an online sensation. Remember the Dubai chocolate and Tini's mac and cheese?

These possibilities are endless, but they likely point to manufacturing or human error, whether due to demand, running out of ingredients, or a simple mix-up.
