Somewhere in 12th-century Suffolk, villagers near Woolpit found two children standing by a ditch. A boy and a girl, dressed in strange clothing, speaking a language nobody knew. And their skin was green. Everything we know about Woolpit’s green children comes from two chroniclers, William of Newburgh and Ralph of Coggeshall, and neither of them was there. Nearly 900 years later, nobody has settled what happened to those two children.
