A dress worn by Diana sold for more than a million dollars (yes, it’s a record)
A stunning evening gown worn by Diana, has set a new world record as the most expensive dress ever sold, People reports.

The dress is a stunning ballerina-style evening gown designed by Jacques Azagury. According to the auction house, the dress sold for a staggering $1,148,080. This was well above its estimate of $100,000 to $200,000. The previous auction record for a Diana dress was $604,800!

The black and blue Azagury gown, featuring a velvet bodice adorned with metallic stars and an elegant two-tiered organza skirt with bows and belt, was first worn in Italy in April 1985. Princess Diana wore it for a second time during her visit to Canada in 1986, to a concert by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.

The dress could be seen at the Fashion Rules Exhibition in 2013, when it was exhibited as part of a fashion show at Kensington Palace.
