The Toronto Jays are coming up on a moment in their history in 2022 that could culminate in a World Series win!

The pitching staff

While the Blue Jays are formidable offensively, the pitching staff is also responsible for current and future success.

Jose Berrios

Jose Berrios is a right-hander who signed a 7-year, $131M contract extension this winter.

Jose Berrios

The quality starter maintained a 1.09 WHIP last year with Toronto, despite an ordinary 5-4 record.

Kevin Gausman

Kevin Gausman signed a 5 year contract with the Blue Jays this winter for $110M. A great deal, he dominated with the Giants in 2021.

Kevin Gausman

With the Jays, his contribution will be very important to ensure that every pitcher on the team is "in the right chair".

Hyun-Jin Ryu

This means that Hyun-Jin Ryu will have all the chances in the world to recover from his difficult 2021 campaign.

Hyun-Jin Ryu

The year 2022 is off to a bad start for him with a stay on the injured list. At 35 years old, he is getting a bit old.

Hyun-Jin Ryu

However, his effectiveness has never been in doubt in the past. He could very well pick up where he left off in 2019 and 2020.

Alek Manoah

Alek Manoah has been dominant since the start of the 2022 season. This continues the 24-year-old right-hander's rapid and impressive progress.

Alek Manoah

In 2021, Manoah had accumulated a 9-2 record in 20 starts, and he clearly hasn't peaked.

Yusei Kikuchi

Yusei Kikuchi had a split season in 2021. One wonders if he will be the dominant pitcher at the start of the season...

...or the shaky pitcher of the 2nd half of the season? As the 5th starter, he proves to be a less worrisome record.

Adam Cimber

In relief, Adam Cimber is leading the way in the early going. He came over from Miami in 2021 and has been very successful since then.

Adam Cimber

In 37 innings with the Jays last year, he maintained an earned run average of 1.69!

Adam Cimber

His efforts coupled with those of Yimi Garcia, who also played in Miami last year, make the Jays a tough team to beat late in games.

Yimi Garcia

Garcia, backed by a good lineup, is pitching with a lot of confidence, unlike 2021.

Jordan Romano

Other relievers have been impressive this early in the season and are providing hope for major honors. Jordan Romano, for example.

Trent Thornton

Ross Stripling, Trent Thornton (pictured) and David Phelps are other weapons available to manager Charlie Montoyo.

Alejandro Kirk

And let's not forget catcher Alejandro Kirk. Because yes, a group of pitchers also includes a great catcher!

Blue Jays are

There's no doubt about it, in 2022, Montoyo and the Blue Jays are well equipped!
