Actor Burt Young, Rocky’s “Paulie”, has died

Sad news for Rocky fans worldwide.

Beloved Oscar-nominated actor Burt Young, best known for his role as Paulie in the Rocky franchise, has passed away.

Burt Young captured the imagination of many moviegoers alongside Sylvester Stallone in the Rocky saga, but also in many other roles, including Chinatown, Once Upon a Time in America and The Sopranos.

Young received an Oscar nomination for his role as the tortured Paulie in the 1977 original Rocky.

Stallone paid tribute to his friend and colleague, calling him an incredible man and a true artist.

Burt Young was 83 years old.
