Beverly Hills star Shannen Doherty dies at 53

Iconic Beverly Hills 90210 star Shannen Doherty has died after years of battling cancer, People has confirmed.

“It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. She has lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease,” confirmed Doherty's longtime publicist.

The star had first been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015.

In 2017, Doherty revealed that her breast cancer had returned after a remission.

She will have proved an example of courage and hope for all those battling the disease over the years.

Shannen Doherty was 53 years old.
