Dave Chappelle releases a statement after being attacked on stage

Dave Chappelle comments on the savage attack on him.

Shortly after avoiding the worst in an attack perpetrated by an unhinged individual at the end of a show, Dave Chappelle’s team comments on the case.

“The performances by Chappelle at the Hollywood Bowl were epic and record-breaking and he refuses to allow last night’s incident to overshadow the magic of this historic moment”, a spokeswoman for Chappelle, Carla Sims, says, reports the Los Angeles Times.

In an ironic twist of fate, Chris Rock, himself the victim of an onstage assault by none other than Will Smith at the recent Oscars, was with Dave Chappelle on the night of the attack.

Rock even made a joke on stage in reference to the two incidents.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested by LAPD in connection with the Dave Chappelle attack.
