Did Musk see the “secret plans for potential war with China”?

Elon Musk received a briefing at the Pentagon, described by US defense officials as “sensitive discussions about China and technology”, but which was initially titled “secret plans for potential war with China”, according to New York Times.

The NYT revealed the information on the eve of the meeting, Musk was initially scheduled to receive a briefing on top secret plans concerning a potential war with China at the Pentagon.

However, US defense officials quickly denied this version, specifying that Musk would participate in an unclassified meeting on sensitive discussions about China and technology.

Trump also reportedly reacted by stating on TruthSocial that: «China will not even be mentioned or discussed» during this meeting.

But Musk indeed went to the Pentagon on March 21 for a 90-minute meeting, and the administration is visibly trying to downplay its importance.

Elon Musk, whose influence within the government is disputed by several, especially with DOGE, seems closer than ever from accessing sensitive documents and top military secrets.

This role is heavily contested by the population, with several protest movements visible across the country (and even the world).

Elon Musk is being heavily criticized, not only for the massive job cuts within the government, often perceived as brutal, but also for conflicts of interest.

The billionaire seems to still have important financial interests in China, which raises concerns about the risk that sensitive information about China falls into his hands, as he could reap enormous benefits from it.

During his visit to the Pentagon, Musk also reportedly stopped by the office of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

According to the New York Times, Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell stated that Musk was invited by Pete Hegseth for a simple visit, specifying that the Department of Defense is “thrilled to welcome Elon Musk to the Pentagon”.
