France, the UK and Canada are threatening Israel with sanctions over the resumption of its military offensive and restrictions on humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The humanitarian crisis

Faced with an escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza, France, the UK and Canada recently raised their voices and threatened Israel with sanctions.
Its military operations

This stance comes as the Israeli government intensifies its military operations in Palestinian territory, while Benyamin Netanyahu maintains his restrictions on the delivery of humanitarian aid.
"We will not stand by"

In a joint statement, France, the UK and Canada expressed their disagreement with the escalating attacks, which they considered disproportionate: “We will not stand by while the Netanyahu government pursues these egregious actions”.
Too far

While reaffirming Israel’s right to defend itself after the Hamas terrorist forward in October 2023, the three countries believe that Benyamin Netanyahu is going too far and are demanding an immediate end to the offensive to “take control of all of Gaza”.
A series of measures

The statement by the three countries continues, hinting at a series of concrete measures against Israel, including sanctions: “If Israel does not cease the renewed military offensive and lift its restrictions on humanitarian aid, we will take further concrete actions in response”.
An international delegation

This statement comes just as an international delegation, including France, the UK and Canada, was visiting the Palestinian territory of the West Bank to assess the humanitarian situation there, as Israel continues to expand its settlements.
"The inconvenience caused"

During the visit, the delegation came under fire from the Israeli army, which justified the incident by claiming that the diplomats had deviated from their itinerary. Israel then apologized for “the inconvenience caused”, while the ambassadors and diplomats were forced to take cover.
