Just seven days after its theatrical release, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is off to a simply phenomenal start.

It has thus surpassed Toy Story 5, which had grossed 1.067 billion U.S. dollars since its June release. In addition to this impressive milestone, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has set new records at the North American box office with the highest-grossing Tuesday of all time (US$42 million), surpassing Spider-Man: No Way Home (US$39 million), as well as the highest-grossing Monday in history with US$47 million, ahead of Black Panther (US$40 million).

At this pace, the blockbuster seems well on its way to continuing its climb among the greatest hits in cinema history.

That's not all!

The success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day doesn't stop there. The film has become the fastest in history to cross the US$400 million mark at the North American box office—a feat achieved in just four days.

Globally, it took the film just six days to surpass the $1 billion mark, making it the second-fastest film of all time to reach that milestone. Only Avengers: Endgame (2019) has done better, grossing $1.2 billion in just three days.

Upon its release, Spider-Man: Brand New Day also made history by recording the highest-grossing North American opening weekend of all time, with $360 million, as well as the second-highest global opening in history, thanks to impressive earnings of $932 million during its first weekend.

Which Avengers movie will he return to?

Following the massive success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, expectations are sky-high for Tom Holland's return in upcoming Avengers films.

Although Marvel Studios has not yet officially confirmed his involvement, many observers expect to see Peter Parker again in Avengers: Secret Wars, the major Marvel Cinematic Universe event scheduled to take place after the current storyline. His involvement in Avengers: Doomsday also remains a possibility, but the studio is keeping it under wraps.

In recent interviews, Tom Holland has remained very tight-lipped, refusing to confirm or deny his return.

One thing is certain: after once again proving the character's popularity at the box office, it would be surprising if Spider-Man were absent from the upcoming adventures bringing together Marvel's greatest heroes.
