Michael Jordan‘s most iconic jersey, the one he proudly wore during the first game of the 1998 NBA Finals, will be auctioned off starting September 6.
This jersey, stained with Jordan’s sweat, was worn during the ’98 Finals, nicknamed “The Last Dance”, when the Chicago Bulls triumphed 4-2 over the Utah Jazz.
According to Sotherby’s Auction, this rare piece, in which MJ scored 33 points, is very coveted by collectors.
“Jordan’s 1998 NBA Finals Game 1 jersey is one of the most sought-after pieces of sports memorabilia. And the present example is one of only two Finals jerseys to have been auctioned, for one of its six championships,”Sotheby’s said in a statement.
