It’s cold war between Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi

In an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash, Nancy Pelosi, former Speaker of the House of Representatives and a major figure in the Democratic Party, said she hadn’t spoken to the President since he withdrew from the presidential race.

This revelation came as a surprise to many, and although Nancy Pelosi was evasive in her comments, it seems Joe Biden didn’t appreciate Pelosi’s pressure to push him out of the race.

The brief CNN interview gives a clue as to why Biden has reportedly stopped talking to Pelosi since announcing his difficult decision to leave the White House after just one term.

In her questions to Pelosi, Dana Bash asked whether she had instructed her closest Democratic allies to publicly call for Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the race after his disastrous debate performance against Trump, while Pelosi herself remained silent on the subject. Dana Bash stressed that she knew very well who the Democrat’s closest and most loyal allies were.

When asked by Bash about the state of her relationship with Biden and whether he still held a grudge, Pelosi said she’d have to ask Biden himself, adding that she’d loved and respected him for over forty years.

It’s important to note that, according to several sources, Pelosi privately confided in Biden that the polls suggested he couldn’t beat Trump following his disastrous performance in the debate broadcast on CNN, and that continuing his campaign could jeopardize the Democrats’ chances of winning back the House of Representatives and the White House.

This statement plunged Joe Biden into a defensive mood. In a speech to supporters just days before announcing his withdrawal from the race, Biden referred to a quote attributed to Harry S. Truman: “If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog.”

Biden had also added that he now grasped the meaning of these words.

When Bash finally asked Pelosi if she’d like to talk with Biden again in the future, she replied, “Yes, I would… but, we’re all busy.”
