Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt and Reese Witherspoon at war over Britney Spears book!

Hollywood is reportedly very interested in a big-screen adaptation of pop singer Britney Spears’ memoir The Woman In Me, which sold 1.1 million copies in its first week on sale in the US market. The singer’s memoir has attracted the attention of many top actors and producers, keen to adapt the story for a film or TV series.

Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap Productions, Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment and Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine are all said to be interested in the production rights, leading to a bidding war to see which of these three companies, well known not only for the quality of their productions, but also for their interest in stories featuring women, would get their hands on the valuable production rights.

There were rumors that Shonda Rhimes’ company, Shondaland Productions, would also be interested in the project, since Rhimes wrote the script for Spears’ previous film, Crossroads, in 2002, but a spokesperson reportedly clarified this to Page Six, stating that Rhimes would not be involved in the project after all.

Britney Spears’ highly personal memoir, The Woman In Me, has become a bestseller since its publication last month. Britney is said to have been overwhelmed by the response to her book. Audiences and critics alike have praised her book, which details her rise to fame and personal struggles, as well as her controversial 13-year guardianship, which ended in 2021.

Indeed, sales figures indicate that it will become one of the most popular celebrity memoirs of all time.

It’s not just the possible screen adaptations that are resonating in the industry. Since the book’s release, Spears has seen a marked increase in sales and streams.
