Robinson called the report “irresponsible and defamatory” and is seeking $50 million in damages for defamation in a complaint filed with a higher court.
50 million dollars
Mark Robinson, the controversial Republican candidate for governor of North Carolina, sues CNN for $50 million in damages for disclosing alleged racist comments posted on an adult forum.
Comments
In a shock report, CNN revealed that it had discovered an account on an adult site linked to Robinson, indicating that he had posted racist comments on the site’s forum.
A complaint
Robinson called the report “irresponsible and defamatory” and is seeking $50 million in damages for defamation in a complaint filed in Wake County Superior Court.
This information
In his complaint, Robinson claims that CNN published this information when it was already known that his email had been compromised by several data breaches.
Black Nazi
According to CNN, Robinson wrote several posts between 2008 and 2012 on the Nude Africa website forum, on which he referred to himself as a “perv” and a “Black Nazi”, among other things.
Slavery
He also reportedly expressed support for the reinstatement of slavery.
Women
In other messages, he reportedly claimed, again according to CNN, that he used to watch women change in locker rooms when he was younger.
A favorite of the ex-president
Republicans, including Trump, have distanced themselves from the election campaign of Robinson, an ultra-conservative candidate with controversial comments, who was previously a favorite of the ex-president, despite the fact that he denied being the author of these messages.
Several pieces of evidence
CNN, for its part, claimed that several pieces of evidence established a direct link between Robinson and the adult site, including the use of the same personal email.
