Could Miley be the next big star to take the stage at the Super Bowl halftime show?
For the past few days, the singer has been at the center of a growing wave of speculation on social media, where several posts claim she has been chosen to headline the prestigious Super Bowl LXI halftime show, scheduled for February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. For now, however, nothing is official. Neither the NFL, nor Apple Music, nor Miley herself has confirmed the rumors circulating.
Her name, however, didn't come out of nowhere. For several months now, Miley has been among the artists mentioned for the show, even though she has already acknowledged that the idea would put enormous pressure on her. She hadn't completely ruled it out, though, explaining that she might consider the experience if she could find a way to celebrate the different eras of her career.
And the timing could hardly be better. As Miley prepares for the release of her tenth album, Bass Persuades, the excitement surrounding her rare live performances is reaching impressive levels.

A Rumor That Refuses to Die Down
Reports claiming that Miley has landed the halftime show are multiplying, but no official announcement has yet been made to confirm her participation. Fans will therefore have to wait a little longer to find out who will take the stage at one of the most-watched events on the planet.
Miley herself had mentioned this possibility during an interview. Rather than hiding her reservations, she acknowledged that the Super Bowl represented “too much pressure” for her. She did, however, leave the door open: a performance designed as a celebration of the different phases of her career might interest her.
With more than two decades of songs and artistic transformations behind her, the concept would certainly offer a wealth of possibilities for a performance lasting about fifteen minutes.

1.5 million people want to see her
One factor is now fueling the discussions even more: the phenomenal demand surrounding the two shows Miley will perform at the Hollywood Bowl in October. According to organizers, approximately 1.5 million people lined up for the presale in an attempt to secure tickets.
That figure is staggering when you consider that the famous Los Angeles amphitheater seats about 18,000 people. This frenzy can also be explained by the rarity of Miley's concerts.
The singer hasn't embarked on a full-fledged tour in over a decade, with the exception of a short series of 11 festival performances in 2021 and 2022. Her return to the stage is therefore an event in itself, which could certainly boost her appeal for the Super Bowl.

A New Chapter with Bass Persuades
The two nights at the Hollywood Bowl will coincide with the release of Bass Persuades, Miley's tenth studio album, set to drop next week. The project also marks a major career shift, as it will be her first album with Atlantic Records, a subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
Miley had spent most of her career within the Sony Music universe, most recently with Columbia Records. This new professional chapter thus comes during a much broader period of transformation for the artist.
In particular, she has chosen to go by simply “Miley” from now on, publicly dropping the use of “Cyrus.” Her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, was quick to express his support for this new artistic identity.
Pending an official announcement, Miley's name continues to fuel speculation surrounding the 2027 Super Bowl. Between her musical comeback, the spectacular buzz surrounding her concerts, and a catalog tailor-made for a large-scale show, all the ingredients seem to be in place.
It remains to be seen whether the rumor will become reality.
