Going to a bar and expecting freebies is a bad mix. But one woman managed to get a sidecar from her bartender without much hassle.
Hannah (@traphousehannah), a Texas-based content creator, went out to a bar. While there, she ordered a tequila martini. But she didn't expect her bartender to offer her the “leftovers” from the shaker alongside her glass.
The kindness, according to some commenters, might have reflected a greater affinity the bartender had toward her.
As of this writing, her post has more than 1.2 million views.
Hannah's tequila martini—with a little something extra
Hannah wasn't necessarily expecting something extra when she ordered a tequila martini. But she ended up getting it anyway.
“ I ordered a martini and the bartender gave me the leftovers from the martini,” Hannah said in her video. She then flipped her camera to show the extra drink, which was illuminated by red light. The “extra” she received nearly filled up a whole other glass.
Afterward, Hannah recalled that she did not remember what happened after filming the clip, crediting the extra alcohol she got from the bartender.

Do bartenders really give customers the ‘leftovers'?
When a bartender makes a cocktail or a batch of drinks, there might be a little bit of extra liquid left inside their shaker. Usually, this is because of slight overpours of liquor.
While the term “sidecar” usually brings to mind the well-known classic cocktail with the same name, it's also a technical term. It's commonly used when describing any extra liquid in a cocktail that a bartender offers a customer.
Outside of etymology, it's not unusual for bartenders to offer customers a drink's “extra juice.” However, it's ultimately up to a bartender's preference. It's not typically something customers can request.
Bartender's favorites
In the comment section, viewers said that Hannah's bartender was playing favorites.
“It means you have been picked by the bartender as the favorite,” a commenter said. “I do it with people that are super nice to me when busy or the ones that actually have manners.”
“[That's] a sign of great respect in their culture,” another commenter said.
A third commenter said, “Awww, he proposed to you. He is now your bartender for life.”
