“Top Gun: Maverick” exceeds expectations

Tom Cruise‘s new film , Top Gun: Maverickis by far the actor’s best opening for a film in his40-year career.

Already, last week, Top Gun: Maverick was expected to take off like a rocket. The numbers released in the last few hours surpassed expectations. The new film has generated $156 million at the domestic box office, far more than the $80 million expected.

Top Gun: Maverick is the third best opening of the year behind two superhero movies, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and The Batman.

Tom Cruise ‘s new film could also continue its success for a few more weeks.There are no other major films in theaters until Jurassic World: Dominion, which opens on June 9.
