“Trump Gaza”: A grotesque AI-generated video published by the American president has sparked outrage

Donald Trump posted on TruthSocial a video generated by artificial intelligence presenting his controversial vision for the future of Gaza. 

This video illustrates a radical transformation of the territory into a luxury resort, nicknamed “Trump Gaza,” featuring hotel-casinos, golden statues, and futuristic skyscrapers. 

This publication was released a few weeks after Netanyahu’s official visit to the White House on February 4th, where the situation in Gaza and the prospects for peace were at the heart of the discussions.

But on this occasion, Trump rather presented a controversial plan to relocate the two million Palestinians from Gaza to Egypt and Jordan, in order to transform the region into a high-end tourist destination, nicknamed the “Riviera of the Middle East”.

The video, which has sparked fierce criticism, begins with images of children playing among the ruins of Gaza, then shows skyscrapers under construction, followed by a paradisiacal destination.

In response to criticism, the Trump administration stated that any population movement would be temporary and ruled out any military intervention in Gaza. However, Trump’s initial comments about a U.S. takeover and the transformation of the territory without consent created tensions and sparked outrage

In the video, we see several times a version of billionaire Elon Musk, a controversial ally of Donald Trump, enjoying various dishes before throwing money to tourists, as children pick up the bills that have fallen to the ground. Later, in this absurd staging, bundles of bills even seem to rain down from the sky around him.

The release of this AI-generated video, with its ridiculous staging featuring Elon Musk, has intensified the controversy. 

Many critics see it as a dangerous attempt by the Trump administration to deny the existence of Palestinians and justify their erasure from the territory, regardless of the responsibilities in the conflict.

In addition to displaying Trump’s name in golden letters on several buildings and showcasing gold statues of the “Dear Leader” of the United States, now elevated to “Dear Leader” of the “Trump Gaza,” this absurd video shows an AI version of Trump alongside a woman, in a hotel bar and on the beach with… Benjamin Netanyahu.

By publishing an AI-generated video transforming Gaza into a beach resort in his image, Trump mocks American diplomacy as well as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Between surreal propaganda and absurd staging, this administration slips into a troubling caricature of power…
