We know the release date of “Dune: Part Two” by Denis Villeneuve

You’ll have to be patient. The second half of director Denis Villeneuve‘s Dune will be coming to the big screen later than expected.

Warner Bros has just announced the release dates of its major upcoming films. Denis Villeneuve ‘s Dune: Part Two has been moved from October 20, 2023 to November 17, 2023. Doing so will bring the film just days before the U.S. Thanksgiving, a date that kicks off blockbuster releases before the holiday season.

In the past, Warner Bros. has also released blockbuster films like Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts and Justice League on these dates.

Dune: Part Two Denis Villeneuve will not be the only one to compete for moviegoers. Other studios are also lining up big names for the date. Lionsgate will be releasing the highly anticipated The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, while Universal will be focusing on Trolls 3.

According to Deadline, Denis Villeneuve will begin shooting the second part of Dune next fall in Budapest, Europe.

For Warner, the film of the Quebecer is important, because in 2021, it generated $ 400 million in revenue and won six Oscars.

For its new release, Dune: Part Two will feature new characters played by Léa Seydoux, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken and Austin Butler.

Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin should reprise their roles.

Denis Villeneuve and his wife, former CBC culture reporter Tanya Lapointe, are among the film’s producers.
