Woman leaves Crunch Fitness. Then she looks inside Honda Accord, has a message for its owner: ‘there’s a snake’

Most people would want to know if there was something perilous in their car that could cause an accident. Luckily for one driver, a woman left her a warning.

Desarae Legros (@cooking_comedy_chaos), a chef, posted a video that received more than 3.6 million views. In it, she said that she found an unusual creature inside another person's vehicle that made her stop dead in her tracks.

“Whoever is driving this blue Honda Accord at Crunch Fitness … You have a snake in your vehicle,” she said.

‘You're gonna have a surprise later'

The content creator said she was walking out of the gym when she saw a snake slither into another person's blue Honda Accord. According to her, she recorded her video after the snake crawled inside.

“[Expletive] you not. I just… I was coming out of the gym and I [saw] the snake,” she said. “I'm gonna go into the gym and let them know that there is a snake in the blue Honda Accord Sport Special Edition at Crunch Fitness.”

She also told her audience that another person tried to help her capture the snake, but to no avail.

Later, she posted an update. She said that she didn't know whether the owner ever found the snake. She had to leave the gym before the owner came outside, but she did let staff inside know about the issue.

Luckily, the supposed owner of the blue Honda Accord commented on the video.

“Hi I'm the owner of the blue Honda and I literally thought it was a joke … I haven't found it or even looked yet I just seen these videos,” she said.

Legros replied with additional information. “It went up into the rear passenger wheel well and slithered right up in there! I was trying to save him but I think my efforts scared him so bad he found retreat in your car,” she said. “I hope you find him and get him back to his family.”

How dangerous could a snake be?

The risk a snake poses to an unwitting individual generally depends on where the snake is in the vehicle and whether it's actively disturbing a driver. That's because any snake—regardless of whether it's venomous—could cause an accident by disturbing a driver.

In the late 2000s, a man crashed his vehicle after two pet snakes escaped from his pockets. The snakes “slithered near the gas and brake pedals.” He and a passenger tried to catch them, leading to the crash.

In 2020, a man found a venomous eastern brown snake in his vehicle while driving on a highway in Queensland, Australia. Eastern brown snakes are responsible for the majority of snakebite deaths in Australia, according to CNN.

Considering this, the man jumped around in his seat to avoid the snake. He thought he may have been bitten by it, so he quickly killed it and drove to a nearby hospital. As he drove, he was pulled over by a police officer, who learned about the situation and called paramedics. Later, they discovered the man had not been bitten; he was only experiencing shock from the encounter.
