This event occurred during the SummerSlam last weekend’s event, presented on the side of Nashville’s Nissan Stadium in front of nearly 50,000 fans.
The incident occurred when referee Dan Engler made a three count on Rousey as she executed a maneuver on Morgan and appeared to tap out. However, both of Rousey’s shoulders were on the ground, hence the three count. That’s when, in the midst of the excitement, she grabbed the official’s arm and then threw him to the floor and delivered her finishing move.
So, in the story, not in reality, Rousey was fined an undisclosed amount while being suspended indefinitely. As they say in wrestling lingo, this story is a “work” (fictitious), which means that Rousey did not receive any real sanctions.
Ronda Rousey, a former Olympian and 2008 judo bronze medalist, was a fighter in the UFC until 2016 and the first woman inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2018. She joined the WWE in 2018.
