Elon Musk: “I regret”

Hours before posting on X that he regretted his actions against Donald Trump, Elon Musk reportedly had a phone conversation with the former president, according to CNN.

This rapprochement comes after a major public confrontation between the two men, which occurred shortly after Musk’s departure from the Trump administration.

In a message since deleted, the billionaire had notably accused Trump by claiming that his name appeared in classified files linked to Jeffrey Epstein, which, he claimed, justified his administration’s efforts to prevent their release to the public.

After deleting the majority of his messages, Elon Musk said, “I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far.”

According to CNN, the call between the president and the billionaire took place under the supervision of certain members of the White House, including Chief of Staff Susie Wiles and Vice President JD Vance.

This brief conversation came shortly after Trump was asked about a possible resumption of contact with Musk, to which he had replied that Musk had been trying to reach him, but that he had no immediate intention of speaking to him.

It remains uncertain whether their relationship will return to what it was before this tense episode, but a form of peace seems to have set in, notably with Musk’s public apology on X. Moreover, Trump’s recent threats against the billionaire’s business activities seem to have had the desired effect, prompting Musk to put an end to his criticism of the president.
