Trump loses his cool in the face of questions aimed at his administration about Jeffrey Epstein.
On the defensive

A question asked to Pam Bondi about her department’s recently released report on the Jeffrey Epstein case, during a Trump cabinet meeting, clearly put the latter on the defensive.
"Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein?"

Taken aback, the president abruptly interrupted Pam Bondi, astonished that journalists were still coming back to this case, even though it had been filed the day before and was linked to one of the most high-profile issues of the last decade: “Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein? This guy’s been talked about for years,” he said.
"This creep"

Not stopping there, Trump continued his tirade against the media: “You’re asking… We have Texas, we have this, we have all of the things, and, are people still talking about this guy? This creep. That is unbelievable”
The Epstein case

The journalist behind the president’s reaction was seeking clarification from Pam Bondi about Alex Acosta, former Secretary of Labor under Trump in 2017 and former federal prosecutor in Miami in the Epstein case, in particular to find out whether he had really worked for an intelligence agency, as he himself had implied.
The missing minute

He also wanted clarification of an entire minute missing from the surveillance video released by the government, which was supposed to show that no one had had access to Epstein’s cell in the hours preceding his death, officially presented as a suicide.
The same minute!

After Trump made his frustration clear, Pam Bondi was keen to answer the question about the video. In her words, according to the Bureau of Prisons: “Every year, every night they redo that video. its old from 1999 so every night the video is reset and every night should have the same minute missing.”
Conspiracy theories

Bondi also assured that she would soon provide the evidence showing that this minute is automatically erased every day. The case of Jeffrey Epstein, a former close associate of Donald Trump, will no doubt continue to attract attention, while many grey areas persist. The name has long fueled various conspiracy theories among Trump supporters and it’s not about to stop.
