A vote in the middle of the night to block the Epstein files

In the middle of the night, Republican elected officials blocked the Democrats’ attempt to release files on Jeffrey Epstein.

This maneuver comes as the Trump administration faces heated controversy after Attorney General Pam Bondi’s sudden closure of the case.

This turn of events angered many MAGA supporters, who had been promised that the Epstein files would be made public, and who had been expecting a list of wealthy clients.

These supporters, who have been claiming for years that Democratic figures would appear on the list, take a very dim view of the fact that Donald Trump is now seeking to minimize the affair, declaring that there’s nothing to it and that the list was fabricated by his enemies, notably… Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton!

Before the vote on the Epstein files, California Democratic Representative Ro Khanna challenged his colleagues, saying, “Whose side are you on? The rich and powerful, or on the side of the people?”.

Ro Khanna’s proposed measure to force Attorney General Pam Bondi to release all Epstein-related documents within 30 days was rejected by Republicans.

GOP members pleaded that the amendment was irrelevant in the procedural context of the GENIUS Act.
