Coco Collection has announced that it is recruiting for the role of Ken, giving one lucky person a chance to spend ten nights living in this heavenly location.

The winner will fly to the breathtaking resort of Coco Bodu Hithi, where he or she will take on the role of Ken for ten days, far from reality. Located in the North Malé atoll, Coco Bodu Hithi offers perfect white-sand beaches and beautiful shores.

As with any job application, potential candidates must meet specific criteria. These criteria are as follows:

  • Be able to stand proudly in the sand
  • Spend endless hours contemplating the Indian Ocean
  • Follow the morning waves
  • Empty your head of all thought
  • Having your rollerblades with you at all times
  • Be comfortable performing a solo musical number or a group dance sequence.

  • Know by heart the lyrics to “Push” by Matchbox Twenty
  • Have at least two pairs of sunglasses at all times.
  • Hold and lean on a surfboard
  • 60 years experience as a Ken (preferred but not required)
  • Those recruiting for this position have stated that it is stress-free, free of lifeguard responsibilities, free of the need to surf, free of horses, free of patriarchy and beach trips.
The chosen beach lover will stay for ten nights in their dream home, close to the sand and equipped with stylish accessories, and their partner or friend can accompany them.

Candidates need not have any previous experience but must be over 18. Prospective beach staff will be asked to explain in 150 words “why they’re right for this role.” Applications close at noon on August 31.
