Justin Trudeau commented on Pope Francis‘ visit, accompanied by a photo of the two men shaking hands.
The pope arrived in Edmonton to “offer the Roman Catholic Church’s official apology to First Nations, Inuit and Métis Survivors and their descendants for the role it played in the exploitation of residential schools.”
“We know this has the potential to retraumatize Survivors and reopen old wounds, and we’ll continue to be here to provide the necessary supports,” the caption under the Prime Minister’s post read.
