One dead after false bomb threat at Majorie Taylor Greene’s home

A false bomb threat to the home of Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene led to tragedy. A police officer, responding to the call, collided with a motorist while en route to the congresswoman’s residence.

A motorist was killed Monday in a traffic accident with a police officer responding to a bomb threat at the home of Congresswoman Majorie Taylor Greene, authorities said.

Tragically, a woman lost her life in the accident, while the policeman involved was not seriously injured.

A threatening e-mail, claiming that a bomb had been placed in Taylor Greene’s P.O. box and was due to explode over the weekend, is believed to have been the cause of the accident.

En route to the scene, an officer from Rome, a member of the bomb squad, was involved in a traffic accident.

According to a Rome police statement, the collision unfortunately resulted in the death of a female driver, identified as Tammie Pickelsimer.

The FBI, which took over the investigation, said the origin of the e-mail had been traced to a Russian IP address.

Remember that the threat targeting Marjorie Taylor Greene is part of a series of false alerts targeting several members of Congress, a phenomenon that has intensified in recent years and is often linked to foreign threats.

The congresswoman has claimed to have been dangerously “swatted” nearly 10 times since taking office.
