‘Scream 6’: Underpaid, Neve Campbell exits the franchise
After 26 years, Neve Campbell leaves the franchise that made her famous.

In the end, it’s a salary dispute that ended Sidney Prescott’s run within the universe of Scream as actress Neve Campbell walked out of the saga following stalled negotiations.

“Sadly, I won’t be making the next Scream film. As a woman I have had to work extremely hard in my career to establish my value, especially when it comes to Scream. I felt the offer that was presented to me did not equate to the value I have brought to the franchise. To all my Scream fans, I love you. You’ve always been so incredibly supportive to me. I’m forever grateful to you and to what this franchise has given me over the past 25 years,” Neve Campbell said in an official statement, reports THR.

It’s unclear what’s next for Scream 6, scheduled for 2023, but producers had already announced Hayden Panettiere ‘s surprise return to the franchise a few weeks earlier.
