Secret Service had actually increased security around Trump before the assassination attempt

Secret Service security surrounding former President Donald Trump had been beefed up following intelligence about an Iranian plot to assassinate him that was allegedly unrelated to events at the rally in Pennsylvania, according to information obtained and reported by CNN.

Following the failure of the now infamous assassination attempt on Trump, it was revealed that former President Donald Trump’s security had been beefed up due to intelligence about an alleged Iranian plot to eliminate him.

CNN reported that the extra level of security was put in place after a source alerted US authorities to the threat.

This new information, although details have not been released, has reignited the debate about the capabilities and responsiveness of the Secret Service, particularly after the shooting targeting Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania.

One wonders, if security had also been reinforced, how a young, inexperienced gunman could have moved to a rooftop near a former president and fired several bullets in his direction…

Remember that on July 13, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks managed to hit Trump’s ear with a bullet at a rally. This failed assassination attempt against the former president left one bystander dead and two others seriously injured.

Shot dead by the Secret Service, Crooks’ motives are not yet clear, and the FBI is currently leading the investigation.

The Secret Service agents responsible for protecting Trump at the events are the subject of much criticism.
