Court documents reveal that Ryan Routh, the man accused of planning an assassination against Donald Trump at his Florida golf course…
Months before
…wrote a letter several months before his arrest, in which he expressed his intention to commit the violent act.
Plan B
In this handwritten note entitled “Dear World”, Routh had clearly envisaged a Plan B should his project at the Trump International Golf Club in Florida fail, stating that he would offer “$150,000 to anyone who could complete the job”.
The real intentions
Some of the disturbing results of the investigation are detailed in a recent court filing, revealing more about the man’s true intentions as well as the troubling aspects of his preparation, which appears to have been planned months before he went through with the deed.
The most worrying aspects
One of the most worrying aspects revealed in the court documents so far concerns a box left several months earlier at the home of an unidentified person, who only opened it after Ryan Routh’s arrest.
Unsuccessful attempt
The box contained ammunition, tools, telephones and several letters, including one entitled “Dear World”, in which Routh claimed to have failed in his assassination attempt against the former president.
Passing the torch
In the letter, he declared that he had failed in his assassination attempt against Donald Trump, claiming to have given his best and deployed all the courage he was capable of. He also seems keen to pass the torch to the person who can “finish the job”, offering $150,000 to whoever can.
For several weeks
According to reports, the investigation reveals that he had been in West Palm Beach for several weeks prior to the incident and had repeatedly accessed the base stations at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence and golf course, before being arrested after his failed attempt.
Several troubling objects
Upon his arrest, authorities discovered several troubling items in his car, including license plates, cell phones, a list of dates from August to October and places Trump had previously been or was scheduled to visit, as well as Google search results on how to get to Mexico from Palm Beach.
More serious charges
Routh is currently charged with unlawful possession of his weapon due to several criminal convictions, as well as possession of a weapon with an obliterated serial number. More serious charges could be added in the coming weeks, while security around Donald Trump has been tightened to the maximum.
