27 dead after roof collapse of a nightclub in the Dominican Republic

On Tuesday night, a tragic drama occurred in Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic. The roof of The Jet Set nightclub, a popular disco, suddenly collapsed while merengue singer Rubby Pérez was performing on stage.

According to estimates, about 300 people were inside the nightclub at the time of the collapse. The incident allegedly occurred around 1 am local time, when the place was crowded.

The authorities immediately launched rescue operations to try to find survivors trapped under the rubble.

Authorities have already reported 27 dead, and this number could unfortunately increase as the searches progress.

Furthermore, according to the latest information from the authorities, more than 150 injured people are said to have been transported by ambulance to hospitals.

The authorities in charge of the search say they are confident of finding survivors under the rubble, although hundreds of people are still missing.

They promised that the search will not stop until the last person under the rubble has been found.

According to a post on Instagram, singer Rubby Pérez, who was performing at this tragic event, is said to have been found alive and is in a stable condition. 

As every minute counts, efforts continue to find the other people trapped under the rubble.
