Elon Musk appears unhinged at CPAC

During his appearance at CPAC 2025, Elon Musk delivered a chaotic and incoherent performance, making multiple provocations and absurd statements. 

Wearing a MAGA hat and brandishing a golden chainsaw gifted by Javier Milei, he transformed his speech into a grotesque spectacle, seeming more concerned with staging than with a coherent political message.

Javier Milei, the far-right Argentine president, is also embroiled in controversies. In February 2025, he promoted the cryptocurrency $LIBRA, which collapsed, causing massive financial losses. He also labeled feminism, diversity, and inclusion as “cancers to eradicate,” triggering massive protests. His recent electoral reform abolishing primaries weakens the opposition and accelerates the democratic decline in Argentina.

Musk’s disjointed speeches swung between attacks on bureaucracy and megalomaniacal rants about the future of civilization, claiming that with Trump’s victory: “the future of civilization is assured” and that it was a “turning point in the history of human civilization.”

His unpredictable behavior has reignited debates and concerns over his admitted use of ketamine, increasingly criticized by observers in light of his recent changes in attitude.

During an interview with Don Lemon in March 2024, for a collaboration on X that was immediately halted after this interview, Elon Musk confirmed that he was taking prescription ketamine to treat his “negative mindset.” 

Although he claimed to take “a small dose about once every two weeks,” recent videos of the billionaire raise doubts about the true extent of his consumption. Notably during Trump’s inauguration, where Musk was filmed rolling his eyes and tilting his head several times while staring at the ceiling, fueling speculations about excessive ketamine use, or possibly another substance hidden from the public.

Elon Musk really put on a show at CPAC, brandishing a chainsaw that he referred to as a “chainsaw for bureaucracy” while describing himself as a “living meme,” Musk stated: “There’s living the dream, and there’s living the meme. And it’s pretty much what’s happening, ya know?”

However, based on Trump’s recent actions and the billionaire’s total complicity, this chainsaw seems more like a “chainsaw for democracy,” ready to chop up American institutions.

Musk, once considered a visionary genius, is now drifting into a caricature of himself, turning American politics into an absurd spectacle where sensationalism takes precedence over seriousness. 

Behind this smoke show, he orchestrates government maneuvers in the shadows, with disastrous consequences for the American people, while ultimately favoring multinationals and wealthy elites.
