JD Vance’s cousin who served in Ukraine accuses him of being an “idiot” in service of Putin

After three years spent fighting alongside Ukrainian forces against the Russian invasion, Nate Vance has firmly criticized his cousin, Vice President J.D. Vance, as well as Donald Trump. He referred to them as “useful idiots” of Vladimir Putin, denouncing their recent position on the conflict.

In an interview with Le Figaro, Nate Vance justified his decision to speak out by stating: «Being your family does not mean I’m going to accept you killing my comrades.»

He expressed shock at the recent statements made by his cousin, the position of the American administration on Ukraine, and the way Zelensky was treated during his meeting in the Oval Office.

Nate Vance was part of the Da Vinci Wolves motorized battalion, a unit of volunteers that fought alongside Ukrainian forces against Russia. His commitment brought him face to face with the brutality of the invasion, reinforcing his belief that Ukraine deserves unwavering support.

Nate Vance’s anger has intensified after the disastrous meeting between Trump, Vance, and Zelensky in the Oval Office on February 28th. 

This meeting resulted in a diplomatic failure, preventing the signing of an agreement on strategic minerals between Ukraine and the United States.

During this meeting, J.D. Vance accused Zelensky of disrespecting the United States and conducting “propaganda tours” about the destruction caused by Russia. For Nate Vance, these comments are an insult to those who, like him, have risked their lives on the ground.

In his interview with Le Figaro, Nate Vance denounced the naivety of Trump and his cousin, asserting that they believe they can placate Putin, while Russia will never forgive American support for Ukraine. He considers their attitude a betrayal.

He also strongly criticized the trap he considers was orchestrated by Trump and Vance against Zelensky, who sabotaged the negotiations by refusing to grant security guarantees to Ukraine in exchange for the mining pact. For him, this demonstrates absolute bad faith on the part of the Trump administration, in his opinion.

What particularly outraged Nate Vance was when J.D. Vance claimed to have seen “stories” justifying his distrust of Zelenskyy and Ukraine: “I almost choked,” reacted Nate Vance. “His own cousin was on the frontlines. I could have told him the truth, without personal interest. He never tried to find out more.”

Nate Vance attempted several times to contact his cousin through his office in Washington, but never received a response. Nate, claiming to have returned to the country out of fear of being captured in Ukraine following Trump’s victory, returned to the United States in January to avoid becoming a “political hostage” in an uncertain climate.
