Columbus Blue Jackets and NHL superstar Johnny Gaudreau has died. He moved to television with his 1972 hit series, The Bob Newhart Show, which ran until 1978 and received two Emmy nominations. Bob Newhart was a true American icon. He was 94 years old.

Iconic Beverly Hills 90210 star Shannen Doherty has passed away after years of battling cancer, People has confirmed. “It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. She has lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease,” confirmed Doherty’s longtime publicist. The star had first been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. In 2017, Doherty revealed that her breast cancer had returned after a remission. She would prove to be an example of courage and hope for all those battling the disease over the years. Shelley Duvall, Robert Altman’s muse who starred in seven films directed by him, has died. Her most iconic role, however, the wife of a deranged Jack Nicholson at the height of his art in Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, etched her in the imagination of moviegoers forever. Duvall died in her sleep from complications of diabetes at her home in Texas, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It was her long-time partner who confirmed her death, according to the same source. The actress was 75 years old.

Producer of films Titanic and Avatar Jon Landau has died, Disney Entertainment co-president Alain Bergman confirmed. Jon Landeau has collaborated extensively with director James Cameron, notably for Titanic, which won the best film award in 1997 at the Oscars. Legendary baseball player Willie Mays has died. Mays’ family and the San Francisco Giants jointly announced that he “passed away peacefully” surrounded by his loved ones. Mays won the World Series with the Giants in 1954 and appeared in 24 All-Star Games during his career, tied for second with Stan Musial, one fewer than Hank Aaron. He won the batting title in 1954, in addition to being the MVP that year. He added another in 1965. Willie Mays was 93.

Former Los Angeles Lakers player, NBA champion and legend Jerry West has died. He became NBA champion in 1972 then a successful GM with the Lakers then the Golden State Warriors. He played for 14 seasons (1960-1974), and got into the Finals eight times. He was so influential to the game that the famous NBA logo is actually of his silhouette! Jerry West was 86.

Former Dallas Cowboys star Larry Allen died suddenly while vacationing in Mexico, the NFL team announced. Allen was one of the architects of the last Cowboys Super Bowl, in 1996. In total, he played twelve seasons with Dallas (1994-2005) before playing for the San Francisco 49ers (2006-2007), where he retired. Larry Allen was 52.

Robinson was well known to Americans as the nation’s first grandmother after her son-in-law, Barack Obama, won the 2008 presidential election. She was a well-liked figure in the White House for eight years, although she remained discreet, caring with much love for her two granddaughters, Sasha and Malia, during the Obama presidency.

“We were devastated to learn – and are heartbroken to share – that PGA Tour player Grayson Murray passed away,” PGA Commissioner Jay Monahan said in a statement.

Grayson Murray had just won a tournament last January.

Bob Cole, who was the voice of Hockey Night in Canada on CBC for more than 50 years, has died. The iconic play-by-play announcer charmed hockey fans for five decades and entered the Hall of Fame in 1996. Bob Cole was 90 years old.

Eva Evans, TikTok star and creator of the web series Club Rat on Prime Video, has died. Her death was announced by her sisters on Instagram. The cause of death was not immediately released. The actress and model Julia Fox, in shock, paid her a vibrant tribute, as did her loved ones and family. David Gail, star of Beverly Hills 90210 and Port Charles, has passed away. He was 58 years old.
