At CatCon, held in Pasadena, California, some rather amusing protests took place in response to J.D. Vance’s inappropriate comments.
Amusing protests
J.D. Vance’s controversial remarks about “Childless Cat Ladies”, made during a Fox News interview in 2021 and recently re-emerged, led to some amusing protests during CatCon, held in Pasadena, California!
J.D. Vance
During the interview, J.D. Vance had claimed that the country was run by Democrats, corporate oligarchs, and a group he referred to as “Childless Cat Ladies”.
Childless Cat Ladies
According to him, these women, unhappy in their own lives and choices, sought to spread their unhappiness across the country, no less…
A few days before
This comment reappeared just days before CatCon, when Vance had just accepted his nomination as Donald Trump’s running mate.
Reactions
This quickly provoked reactions in the media and on social networks, and also marked the CatCon event.
Cats and politics
At the event, several posters and T-shirts bearing slogans such as “Kittens for Kamala” and “Kittens against Trump”, created by artist J. Morrison, a specialist in visual art combining cats and politics, were noticed.
The slogan
Some visitors also wore T-shirts bearing the slogan “Childless Cat Lady For Kamala”.
Word for word
Other t-shirts available at CatCon booths echoed J.D. Vance’s comment almost verbatim, with the slogan: “Childless cat lady ready to pass my misery on to conservatives.”
Added comments
Since J.D. Vance’s inappropriate comments about “childless cat ladies”, Vance has also added remarks about the role of grandmothers, which he reduces to caring for grandchildren, and expressed concern about childless female teachers. He seems to forget that this is not a new phenomenon, and that these female teachers were, at one time, childless churchwomen.
Not accepted
However, the reactions provoked by his remarks and observed at CatCon show that, for many, his remarks are simply not accepted in 2024!
